What a summer we’ve had! Education, connections……….Oh my!
One of my favorite education opportunities was attending the Sourced workshop at The Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh this past August. We had a chance to elevate our skill sets, brand, and connections. This was one of the first hands-on workshops I’ve taken since I starting my business. It was a real honor to learn from some of the best planners & photographer in Raleigh.

How it all started.
When you first arrived, you were greeted with the most delicious spread of breakfast, thanks to HL Catering. Their quiches were to DIE for! and a beautifully crafted welcome bag filled with amazing goodies for us to use throughout the day.
Session One
The first half of the day, we focused on the importance of relationships with vendors, and how to elevate your brand, styling, and vendor list. We also broke into groups. Planners with planners & photographers with photographers. What an opportunity as planners to discuss the importance of style shoots and strong vendor team. Ironically, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect for us since we were in the process of putting together our new brand style shoot. Boy did I have a lot of questions!
By now, it was lunchtime. It was an ordinary lunch, but a chance to mingle with some of my dreamy vendors wish lists like Sugar Euphoria (who provided the delicious cake design and desserts, Cottage Luxe (who provided the stunning boutique rentals and most of all chatting one on one with the leaders of the workshop. Having the opportunity to pick their brains was invaluable.
Session Two
After lunch is when the fun began. Teaming up with our photographer partner, we dove into flat-lay styling. I always thought flat-lay pertained to photographers, but honestly, this was an area I loved the most. Learning the different techniques of layering and design was so much fun. The best part was putting into practice what we learned.

Session Three
Style Shoot fun! The creators Amanda Honeycutt, Lauren Watson, and Stephanie Cisko Whitfield put together some fantastic vendors to learn, practice, and have fun.
While our partners were learning about photography from Allison Kuhn, we were off putting together a tablescape the represented our brand. As you know, Timeless Love Weddings is known for its simple, romantic, elegant affairs. Here’s was we came up with:
It was a lot of fun mixing and mingling with other planners. It’s was incredible that we all had the same essentials, and each of us created something different and beautiful. Here are a few I loved.
