A beautiful Simple Elegant Indian Wedding

Over the years I have been fortunate to have so many incredible clients. But, sometimes, you have couples that you just LOVE. And for me Ananya and Harsh were one of those couples. From the very start we had so much fun putting together their big Simple elegant Indian wedding!
Ananya and Harsh knew they needed a planner when planning from afar. With Ananya in London and Harsh in DC., we enjoyed many virtual nights planning their perfect big fat Indian wedding. I’d have to say, Ananya was the perfect Timeless Love bride with her spreadsheet and detail checklist.
The highlight of it all was Saturday. The morning started with a traditional Baraat (procession of the groom and his family and friends). The baraat was filled with lively Indian music provided by DJ Rang and a beautiful red Tesla Model 3. At the end of the baraat Harsh was ceremoniously greeted by Ananya’s family and then guests moved inside for the Hindu ceremony. One thing I have learned over the years is that no Hindu wedding is the same. There are so many symbolic acts and traditions that vary from region to region. One of Ananya’s request was to have the ceremony shorted so guests could enjoy mingling during lunch.
After the ceremony guests had some downtime to relax, make outfit changes (another thing I love about Indian weddings), and then came back to the ballroom for the reception. This is where Ananya and Harsh let their personality of simple elegance shine. There was this stunning picturesque stage from Katen Shah Design for formal family photos, blush sequin + silk linens from Party Reflection and simplistic florals, and candles for a romantic dinner atmosphere. The guests feasted on amazing food by Dharani Catering and sweet treats by Mon Macaron then danced to both Indian and American music for hours until the after-party + pizza!
